APC Actions Boosting ADC Popularity — Dele Momodu Raises Alarm

Nigeria’s political landscape may be shifting in ways, as media personality Dele Momodu has raised concerns that recent actions by the ruling party could be strengthening the opposition.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Momodu suggested that decisions made by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are indirectly increasing the visibility and appeal of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

This development, he implied, could reshape alliances across the political space.

Moreover, the situation appears to be drawing key opposition figures closer together, a move many did not anticipate.

Names such as Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar, Aminu Tambuwal, and Rotimi Amaechi were mentioned as part of this growing alignment.

At the center of his argument is the issue of priorities, particularly during major political events.

Momodu questioned the heavy presence of security officials at a past APC convention, suggesting that national responsibilities may have been overlooked. According to him, such decisions could send the wrong message to citizens already concerned about security challenges.

“When APC was having their own convention, all the military high chiefs, Inspector generals of Police, they all abandoned their roles and samb!sa forest, abandoned Jos, Kebbi for all ogas to come to one venue,” he said.

He continued by expressing disappointment over how resources and attention were managed during political gatherings. However, he noted that the outcome may not have favored the ruling party as intended.

“If I was in President Tinubu’s Shoes I would just calm down and let these people have their own day, it was embarrass!ng that we all had to gather in one small Venue without air conditioning but despite that, They are only making the ADC more popular,” he added.

Furthermore, Momodu pointed out that the current political environment could be encouraging unity among opposition leaders.

“They have now forced Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, Atiku, Tambuwal, Amaechi and all other into one party. Let’s start by rescuing our country from a one-man rule,” he stated.

Meanwhile, analysts say that while political gatherings are essential, public perception plays a critical role in shaping narratives.

In addition, the conditions surrounding recent political events have also been discussed.

However, it remains unclear whether these developments will have long-term political effects.
