Popular content creator Asherkine has stirred reactions online after revealing that he was stopped by security officials while filming content at the University of Lagos.
The social media personality said the encounter happened while he was creating content on the campus of his alma mater.
Speaking in the clip shared by YabaLeftOnline, Asherkine expressed frustration over the experience. He jokingly said, “That’s why I don’t come here,” suggesting the incident discouraged him from filming at the university.
The viral video triggered mixed reactions across X. While some users sympathised with the content creator, others argued that filming commercial content on school premises requires official approval.
One user wrote, “Nabbed for filming without approval and still trying to play the victim. Entitlement is loud with these ones.”
Another user, @Crownthecook, added, “You deserve it!!! Carry your pompous self out of the school. The content is fake they know that why they sent you out.”
Some Nigerians questioned whether recording videos in public institutions should require permission. Reacting to the incident, @enythnn asked, “Wait, is it a crime to turn your camera on inside a federal govt facilities because this thing happened to me recently inside UCH in Ibadan. I really want to know if it’s a crime?”
Sharing a similar experience, @DjLucianovibe wrote, “Yeah same with Ikeja city mall they wanted to harass me one time I changed it for them.”
