90 Days to End Terrorism or Quit – Pastor Adeboye Tells Security Chiefs

Growing concerns over insecurity in Nigeria have prompted a strong message from the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

The respected cleric has called on the Federal Government to take urgent action against terrorism and violent crimes. He suggested that security chiefs should be given a strict timeline to deliver results or leave office.

His comments come at a time when many Nigerians remain worried about kidnappings, attacks on communities, and the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in different parts of the country.

Speaking in a video shared on his official X account, Adeboye urged authorities to move beyond promises and focus on practical solutions.

The insecurity crisis has remained a major concern for citizens, businesses, and community leaders. Therefore, Adeboye said stronger measures are needed to restore public confidence and improve safety across the country.

According to him, security agencies should be held accountable for results.

He stated, “If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government, ‘Move fast and tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.’”

The cleric stressed that the fight against terrorism should not focus only on armed groups. Moreover, he said those who support or finance criminal activities must also be identified and dealt with.

Adeboye further stated, “When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, we should make it clear to them that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists; they should eliminate their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be.”

Meanwhile, the RCCG has also responded to claims circulating online regarding Pastor Adeboye’s political position.

In a statement released by the church, RCCG rejected allegations that its General Overseer campaigned for any government or political party.

According to the church, Adeboye has consistently maintained a neutral position on partisan politics. Furthermore, members have always been encouraged to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and vote according to their conscience.

The church explained that Adeboye has never instructed members to support any political party. Instead, he has consistently promoted responsible citizenship and peaceful participation in democratic processes.

In addition, RCCG dismissed claims that the cleric called off a planned protest. The church clarified that he only communicated a directive issued by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria regarding adjustments to a prayer programme.

According to the statement, “Pastor E.A. Adeboye only communicated the instruction of the Pentecostal Fellowship in Nigeria to members of the RCCG on the updated plan to have the grand finale of the Three Day Prayer Program in a centralized venue and hold a rally around the venue.”

The statement added, “This was communicated by PFN to all churches under PFN in Nigeria.”

The church also rejected suggestions that Adeboye remains silent on national issues.

According to RCCG, the cleric has repeatedly addressed matters such as insecurity, corruption, economic hardship, governance, elections, and leadership through sermons, prayers, and public guidance.

Furthermore, the church emphasized its commitment to correcting misinformation whenever necessary.

It stated, “Let it be clearly stated: Pastor Adeboye and The RCCG will not be defined by falsehood, and neither will the Church remain silent while inaccurate narratives are repeatedly circulated as facts.”
