A quiet but emotional moment unfolded in Abuja as the Inspector-General of Police paid a condolence visit to the family of a late officer.
The loss of ASP Ejeh Alfred has been widely felt, especially as details of his final assignment emerged. His death occurred while he was actively serving, making the situation even more painful for colleagues and loved ones.
On April 30, 2026, the condolence visit was carried out at the family residence. The visit was led by Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, alongside senior officers.
According to official information, ASP Ejeh Alfred died in a fatal accident on April 17, 2026. The incident occurred in Toro, Bauchi State, during an operational assignment.
He was said to be driving a police bowser loaded with Jet A1 fuel. The fuel was being transported from Akwanga to Yankari.
However, the journey ended tragically, as the officer lost his life at the scene.
During the visit, the IGP was received by the widow, Mrs. Ejeh Mercy, alongside her children and relatives. Officers from the Nigeria Police Airwing were also present.

Moreover, the presence of top police officials added weight to the visit. Among them were senior officers, including Assistant Inspectors-General and the Commissioner of Police Airwing.
The IGP expressed sympathy to the grieving family. He reassured them that support from the police would be provided during this difficult time.
Furthermore, CP Nwogoh Martin, speaking on behalf of the Airwing, appreciated the visit.
