Ibadan Kidnap Rescue: Police Rescue Abducted Mother and Twin Sons, Two Suspects Killed

A wave of relief has swept through Ibadan after the Nigeria Police Force successfully rescued a woman and her twin sons who were abducted while on their way to school.

The victims, identified as Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, regained their freedom after a coordinated security operation carried out by police operatives.

A swift intelligence-led operation by the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) brought the frightening ordeal to an end.

According to a statement issued by the Nigeria Police Force, the victims were rescued at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, during an operation in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The family was reportedly abducted on June 3 while Mrs. Adegoke was taking her children to school. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m., leaving relatives and residents worried about their safety.

However, security officials said intensive efforts were immediately launched to locate the victims and dismantle the criminal network behind the abduction.

The police explained that the breakthrough was achieved through intelligence gathering, surveillance, and tactical operations.

According to the statement, investigators carefully monitored the suspects’ movements before moving in on their location.

As the operation unfolded, police operatives reportedly encountered the kidnappers, leading to a confrontation.

During the exchange, two suspected kidnappers were fatally wounded.

Furthermore, two rifles were recovered from the suspects during the operation.

Most importantly, the victims were rescued unharmed.

The police confirmed that Mrs. Adegoke and her sons are currently receiving medical attention and necessary support after their traumatic experience.

In addition, authorities revealed that efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the criminal gang.

Preliminary intelligence suggests that some suspects escaped from the scene with gunshot injuries.

Therefore, security operatives have intensified search operations across the area.

The police also assured residents that all those connected to the crime would be tracked down and brought before the law.


Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police praised the officers involved in the mission.

According to the statement:

As investigations continue, residents hope the remaining suspects will soon be arrested.
