Nigerian actress Osas Ighodaro has taken a major step onto the global stage after securing a lead role in an upcoming Nolly-Bollywood production.
Moreover, it has highlighted the growing collaboration between Nollywood and Bollywood, two of the world’s biggest film industries.
Ighodaro will star in Imported Bahu, a new micro-drama series that blends Nigerian and Indian storytelling. The project was officially unveiled by producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, who described it as a fresh chapter for her production company.
The announcement has quickly attracted attention online. Furthermore, many fans have praised the actress for continuing to expand her international presence.
The new production features Ighodaro alongside Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall. The story focuses on love, family expectations, hidden secrets, and cultural differences.
Announcing the project on Instagram, executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja wrote:
“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it. Introducing Imported Bahu Forever 7 Entertainment’s first vertical micro-drama series. A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down.”
According to details released with the trailer, the story follows Bahu Mehra, the son of a wealthy Indian family who returns home after spending time abroad.
However, instead of returning with luxury gifts, he surprises his family with Zara Ogun, a successful Nigerian businesswoman played by Ighodaro.
Zara Ogun is portrayed as the confident chief executive of Oguns Fashion. In addition, her character is shown navigating resistance from her partner’s family as she fights for acceptance.
The cross-cultural storyline is expected to resonate with viewers from different backgrounds. Meanwhile, it also reflects the increasing effort to connect African and Asian audiences through entertainment.
The series has been produced by Forever 7 Entertainment. The company has previously been recognized for projects that unite Nigerian and Indian storytelling traditions.

Ahuja has built a reputation for promoting partnerships between Nollywood and Bollywood. Her earlier productions include Namaste Wahala and Postcards, both of which attracted international audiences.
In addition, she has built a successful career as a television presenter and former beauty queen. Her ability to connect with different audiences has been widely acknowledged.
The trailer for Imported Bahu has already been released ahead of its premiere.
The series is scheduled to debut on July 2, 2026, exclusively on LebaraPlay, which has been described as Africa’s first telecom-owned micro-drama platform.
