Fresh controversy has emerged following the death of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo after a family member publicly questioned how the actor’s final days were handled.
The claims have sparked fresh conversations online, with relatives demanding answers over the circumstances leading to his death.
The latest development came after David Ekubo, who identified himself as a relative of the late actor, shared a series of emotional posts on Instagram. In the posts, he alleged that close family members were left out of important decisions before Alexx Ekubo passed away.
Meanwhile, David also denied reports suggesting the actor had a wife. He insisted that the family’s concerns were directed at the actor’s stepmother and not at the woman being identified on social media as Alexx Ekubo’s spouse.
According to David, “We are not aware that Alexx is married to anyone; therefore, let it be very clear that we do not have any issues or questions for the lady paraded as his wife on the internet.”
He added that the family’s questions were focused elsewhere.
“Our questions again are for Alex’s stepmother, who came to know Alexx later in life,” he wrote.
Furthermore, David alleged that it was the actor’s stepmother who informed the family about Alexx’s death.
According to him, “It was Alex’s stepmother who called and informed us about our dead; please, are we to be quiet because she surrounded herself with Alexx’s celebrity friends, whom she has already brainwashed and manipulated as usual.”
The relative went further by making serious allegations regarding the actor’s medical condition before his death.
He claimed that the family was not informed while Alexx’s health continued to decline.
According to David, “This stepmother sat quietly and watched him as his health deteriorated, vital organs removed, and till he took his last breath without informing his only biological sister, who had been on the journey of life with him.”
Moreover, he argued that such actions would not have happened if the actor’s biological mother had been involved.
He stated, “Yes, only a stepmother would do that. No real mother would do that to siblings or children that she has birthed.”
David also alleged that long-standing family disagreements played a role in the strained relationship surrounding the late actor.
According to him, “Jane Nmerechi Nee Onyekwere started this cold war against Chioma, Alexx, and the family when it seemed as though the relationship between Chioma, Alexx, and their biological mother was being rekindled.”
However, the allegations remain claims made by David Ekubo. No evidence supporting the accusations was provided in the posts, and the individuals mentioned have not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
