The wait continues for Nigerian dancer Poco Lee as his legal case takes another turn, his trial has now been pushed further into next year.
He appeared before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on Tuesday, September 15, this latest hearing did not bring the case to a close.
However, a new plea hearing has now been scheduled for February 8, 2027.
His full trial is expected to begin on March 8, 2027, until then, he remains free on bail as proceedings continue.
Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Odinaka, faces five serious charges, these include one count of attempted rape and two counts of rape.
He also faces two counts of assault by penetration, the alleged offences reportedly occurred in Tower Hamlets, east London, on July 23, 2026.
Tuesday’s hearing could not proceed as planned due to a missing charge sheet, this delay pushed the case further into the new year.
This Poco Lee court case has drawn attention from Nigerians both at home and abroad. Benjamin Kuti, known as Oluomo of Derby, attended the hearing personally.
He shared updates after the proceedings ended, kuti urged the public to remain patient and allow the legal process to continue fairly.
Poco Lee was granted bail earlier, on September 11, this came just days before his scheduled court appearance.
He first appeared before Thames Magistrates’ Court back in August, his case was later transferred to Snaresbrook Crown Court for further proceedings.
Throughout the ordeal, close friend Burna Boy has stood firmly by his side, their friendship has remained visible during this difficult period.
However, Poco Lee continues to deny all allegations against him, he maintains his innocence as the legal battle moves forward.
