However, the actor focused more on his career growth and passion for African storytelling during the conversation.

Watson explained that his acting journey started while he was struggling to survive in Ghana years ago.

He revealed that he once sold and rented DVDs before destiny changed his path.

“He was spotted walking through the streets of Teshie in Ghana by a filmmaker who believed he had the face for the screen,” the report stated.

At the time, acting was reportedly far from his plans.

However, that chance meeting eventually transformed him into one of Africa’s recognised movie stars.

Furthermore, Watson reflected on his identity and strong connection to both Liberia and Nigeria.

“Straight to the point. I’m a born and bred Liberian, and I also have strong Nigerian roots through my father, who is from Akwa Ibom State,” he said.

“So, I see myself as a true African man, created and shaped by multiple cultures.”

The actor also praised Nollywood’s growth and influence across the continent.

According to him, Nigeria’s hardworking culture remains one of the reasons the movie industry keeps expanding globally.

“The Nigerian goal-getting, hustling spirit sets the tone for everything,” Watson said.

“Nollywood’s strength lies in its incredible energy, resilience and ability to get things done efficiently.”

Moreover, he noted that African cinema is evolving rapidly and attracting more global attention.

“Across Africa, there’s immense talent everywhere, but Nigeria’s large population and vibrant culture give it a unique advantage,” he added.

In addition, the actor spoke passionately about his dream of building stronger African film platforms capable of competing globally.

“I want us to build an industry as formidable as that of the West,” he said.

Watson added that he hopes to leave behind more than fame and entertainment.

“I want to be that actor who didn’t just entertain people on screen, but someone who helped Africans have better lives and more opportunities,” he explained.

Furthermore, he disclosed that fans should expect to see him directing more films this year.

“More directing. I want to tell stories my way,” he said.

“Stories that mean so much more to Africa and me. More deeply rooted African stories.”

Although the separation reports remain unconfirmed officially.
