Popular social media commentator Isaac Fayose has announced the passing of his wife following a prolonged battle with cancer.
The news was made public on Saturday through a post on his Instagram page, where Fayose shared a candlelight image alongside a short emotional message that read, “Rest In Peace My darling wife 💔”.
In another tribute, he posted her photograph with the caption, “Odaro Oyinbo mi.” The announcement has since been met with sympathy messages from followers and public figures.
Moreover, the development comes barely a month after Fayose spoke openly about his wife’s declining health in an emotional video shared on social media.
At the time, he had revealed that he travelled to Australia to reunite with his family but was confronted with a deeply painful situation upon arrival.
According to him, his wife, who once welcomed him warmly at the airport and prepared his favourite meals was no longer able to speak or even acknowledge his presence due to her worsening condition.
Furthermore, Fayose recounted an emotional moment where he sat beside her hospital bed and sang the hymn “Abide With Me” in both English and Yoruba.
He explained that although she could not speak or open her eyes, she responded by gently squeezing his hand, a gesture that deeply moved him.
In his earlier reflection, Fayose also spoke about the emotional weight of the situation and the limitations of wealth in the face of illness.
“My wealth couldn’t save my wife,” he said while in tears. “Why make other people poor? My own money couldn’t even save her.” he said.
