Popular Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James and her husband, Femi Atere, have welcomed their first child together.
The couple shared the joyful news in an emotional Instagram video on Wednesday.
Their daughter, named Eliana Adeife Atere, was born on May 2, 2026. However, the couple only publicly revealed the news days later in a touching post filled with gratitude and celebration.
The announcement came as a pleasant surprise to many fans who have closely followed the couple’s love story since their glamorous wedding in February 2024.
While unveiling their baby girl, the couple also shared the deep meaning behind her name. According to them, “EL” means God, while “ANA” means “He has answered.”
Together, the name translates to: “My God has answered.”
In addition, the couple attached a Bible verse that reflected their emotional journey into parenthood.
“For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him,” the couple quoted from 1 Samuel 1:27.
Meanwhile, many followers praised the couple for keeping parts of their private journey away from public attention until they felt ready to share the moment.
The pair got engaged in December 2023 before holding their lavish traditional and white wedding ceremonies in February 2024.
