Delta State Crime Crackdown: 15 Nabbed as Police Uncover Weapons at Black Spot

Police operatives in Delta State have uncovered a hidden criminal hub, triggering multiple arrests, with weapons recovered during the raid.

At least 15 suspects have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command. The operation targeted alleged armed robbery and cultism activities.

The arrests were made at a location identified as “Best Lodge” in Oko community. Meanwhile, another suspect was picked up during a separate stop-and-search operation.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the operation was carried out through joint efforts. Operatives from Safe Delta, Operation Delta Sweep, and Operation Delta Shield were involved.

The police action reportedly took place on April 27 at about 11:30 am. During the operation, fourteen suspects, including one female, were arrested.

Items found included a locally made pistol, three live cartridges, and two bags of suspected hard drugs. In addition, four daggers, a cutlass, several mobile phones, and a sum of ₦133,100 were seized.

In a related development, another suspect known as Chidebere Irunkwor was intercepted later that same day. The arrest was made along Kingsley Street during a routine stop-and-search duty.

Preliminary findings revealed that the individual is allegedly linked to the Eiye Confraternity. Meanwhile, he remains in police custody as investigations continue.

The Commissioner of Police has reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling crime. He emphasized the importance of intelligence-led policing in maintaining security.
