Joy was rushed to a hospital but was reportedly pronounced dead on arrival, Doctors reportedly attributed her death to a heart attack.

Joy’s death has left her family in Kenya devastated and searching for answers. Her sister, Nanjala, has now shared details about her employment arrangements in Saudi Arabia.

According to her, Joy moved between different households through an employment agency. She usually worked for a family for about a month before returning for another placement.

Nanjala explained that Joy had only recently started working for the family where she collapsed.

“Joy had only been there for just three weeks; she used to work for one month, goes back to the office then they find her a new house to work and that’s how she was surviving on house to house,”Nanjala said.

Joy had travelled to Saudi Arabia hoping to earn money and improve her family’s living conditions. However, her sudden death has turned that dream into heartbreak.

Her mother said their last conversation happened on a Tuesday. Joy appeared cheerful, and she had not reported any mistreatment.

“We talked and she was fine on Tuesday but from Wednesday I could not find her on phone. I thought she was just busy but then I learnt she died. Joy has never complained to me that she was being mistreated,” her mother said.

The grieving mother now hopes to bring her daughter’s body back to Kenya for burial.
