Eyewitness accounts suggest the attack happened late on April 11, 2026. Agali was said to have been shot while driving through the Iponri area. However, details surrounding the incidents remain unclear, and no official confirmation has been issued.

According to local sources, the Surulere cult killing may be linked to ongoing rivalries between groups.

Some residents claimed tensions had been building quietly in recent weeks. Furthermore, the development has sparked anxiety among locals who fear a possible escalation.

The victim was believed to have strong influence within the Shitta and Akere axis. In addition, reports suggest he was well-known among youth groups in the area. However, these claims have not been independently verified by authorities.

Some accounts also indicate that Agali had recently aligned himself with a political figure ahead of local elections. Meanwhile, it is alleged he supported a candidate different from a widely known incumbent. These claims, however, remain unconfirmed at this stage.

Members of the Buccaneers group have alleged that a rival cult group carried out the attack. Consequently, concerns have grown over possible revenge actions. Residents have therefore been urged to remain cautious as the situation develops.

Security operatives were seen patrolling major roads in Surulere on Sunday morning. In addition, police vehicles were deployed to strategic locations to maintain order. The area is said to be under close monitoring as tensions remain high.
