Truck filled with Almajiris intercepted by Ogun Officials

An IVECO truck, with registration number, Kano XG172 KNG, was intercepted by Operatives of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement known as (TRACE) Corps. The truck loaded with 30 Almajiris was suspected to be coming from Kano State.

Babatunde Akinbiyi a spoke person for Trace said the truck was loaded with assorted pepper and covered with tarpaulin. He said, the truck which is meant to carry only goods also carried 30 Almajiris. The truck was intercepted at Joju area of Sango in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the State.

Trace officials were surprised to how the truck was able to beat all security check points all the way from Kano to Ogun State.

Babatunde Akinbiyi said, “what the truck was conveying came to light when our operatives forced the driver to park and untie the tarpaulin.”

He added “The Almajiris were packed together with various types of pepper, which filled the truck to the brim”.

The Trace official concluded “The truck was turned back and led to tollgate from where they said they came in.”
