The disturbing footage surfaced on social media on Thursday and quickly attracted criticism from Nigerians across different platforms.

In the trending clip, Isokpehi spoke in Pidgin English while warning members of the public against recording him during duty hours.

“Any day I’m on duty as a police officer, carrying my rifle and doing my job, let somebody come and video me… The number of you that I kill, he will be the one to bury all of you,” he said.

The officer further threatened to attack anyone seen with a camera around him while on assignment.

“If anyone is bold enough, just bring your camera… If you don’t do it right, I will clear everybody down, the whole bus, everybody around,” he added.

Beyond the threats, Isokpehi also spoke emotionally about the difficulties faced by police officers in Nigeria.

According to him, many officers suffer injuries and poor welfare conditions while protecting citizens across the country.

“I have served in the Nigerian Police Force for twenty-six years… We suffer every single day,” he stated.

He also displayed what he described as gunshot scars sustained during active service.

“You think I was born like this? This is a gunshot wound… My whole body is covered with bullet wounds and gunshot scars,” he said.

Furthermore, the officer acknowledged efforts by the current Inspector-General of Police to address unpaid benefits.

“Since this IG assumed office, he has started releasing their insurance and benefits,” he added.

The viral video was reportedly uploaded through his TikTok account, “Newton isokpehi for life.”

Although the specific clip has now been deleted, the account remained active at the time this report was filed.

However, the controversy surrounding the video continues to spread online as many Nigerians demand disciplinary action and accountability.
