A sudden and precise air strike by the Nigerian Air Force has hit a known terrorist enclave in Borno State, the operation targeted insurgents in Ali Sheriffti, deep within the Southern Tumbuns.
The operation was carried out on April 24, 2026, under HADIN KAI. According to officials, the mission was launched after credible intelligence revealed active movement of insurgents within the location.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed the development.
He noted that “acting on credible intelligence of terrorist activity, NAF air assets conducted a focused surveillance sweep, during which several insurgents were sighted moving along concealed tracks.”
Following confirmation of the targets, action was immediately taken. The Nigerian Air Force engaged the location with carefully directed strikes.
In addition, the strike significantly weakened the operational capacity of the group. Their movement within the area has been disrupted, while their hideouts were effectively dismantled.

Meanwhile, military authorities have emphasized that such operations will continue. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed this commitment in strong terms. He stated that the force remains determined to eliminate all threats.
“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to pursue and dismantle terrorist networks with unwavering precision and relentless force, ensuring no enclave remains beyond our reach,” he said.
Furthermore, the operation reflects a broader strategy aimed at denying terrorists safe spaces.
Areas like the Southern Tumbuns have long served as difficult terrains for security forces.
Although challenges remain, this latest success sends a clear message.
Terrorist groups are being closely monitored, and their activities are increasingly being disrupted.
