The Kaduna State Police Command has made another major move in the investigation into the Maraban Jos mob killing, arraigning 17 additional suspects while intensifying efforts to track down everyone linked to the brutal attack.
The latest development comes as police continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder that sparked widespread public concern.
Meanwhile, the command has assured residents that no suspect found to have participated in the killing will escape justice. Investigators say the operation is still active, and more arrests could follow as new evidence continues to emerge.
According to a statement issued by the Kaduna State Police Command, 17 additional suspects were brought before a competent court on June 25, 2026, following the conclusion of preliminary investigations.
Furthermore, police disclosed that another 33 suspects have also been charged with criminal conspiracy and unlawful assembly in connection with the incident.
The command explained that the latest court proceedings mark another important stage in the ongoing investigation into the disturbing case.
Authorities stressed that every legal step is being taken to ensure justice is served while protecting the rights of everyone involved.
Meanwhile, investigators also reviewed the cases of other persons who had earlier been arrested during the operation.
Following further investigations, police found that 30 individuals had no connection to the crime.
As a result, they were released without any conditions.
Moreover, police said investigations remain active as detectives continue gathering evidence.
Security operatives are also working to identify additional suspects who either took part in the mob action or assisted those responsible.
In the statement, the command said:
“The Command reiterates that investigations remain ongoing. We are intensifying efforts to identify and apprehend all individuals who participated in, or aided, the commission of this heinous crime. Every person found culpable will be brought to justice.”
The assurance reflects the determination of law enforcement agencies to hold every suspect accountable through due process.
Furthermore, police believe continued cooperation from members of the public will play an important role in the investigation.
