Nollywood actress Adunni Ade is mourning the loss of her mother after a prolonged illness.
The actress shared the heartbreaking news with fans through an emotional Instagram tribute.
Her announcement, made on Monday, October 19, 2026, revealed that her mother died on Sunday, October 18.
She also offered prayers for her late mother, asking Allah to grant her eternal peace.
Adunni Ade’s mother had reportedly battled illness for years.
The actress expressed her sorrow while accepting the will of Almighty Allah.
“With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator after a long battle with illness,” she wrote.
In her tribute, the actress prayed for forgiveness, mercy and a peaceful resting place for her mother.
She also asked Allah to give the family strength during this difficult period.
“Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss. Ameen,” she wrote.
The actress also expressed her love for her mother and prayed that they would reunite in the hereafter.
“Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen,” she added.
Adunni Ade further disclosed that the family would announce the funeral arrangements later.
The actress had previously spoken about her mother’s health challenges.
In October 2019, she shared hospital photographs of her mother and described her as a strong woman.
Many have offered prayers for the family as they cope with their loss.
