It is no longer news that the #endsars# has started trending again. This was triggered by the alleged killing of a young man by SARS officers in the city of Lagos on Saturday, 3rd of October. However, the Lagos State Government has pledged to take decisive actions against the notorious police unit which has been widely accused of committing human rights abuses in the country.
The Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwolu has shown great concern in the online trending videos of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) and the unlawful exploitation activities of its officers.
However, the Governor of Lagos state Babajide Sanwolu took to his tweeter handle on Sunday to address the issue. He wrote, “Appropriate actions will be taken, and speedily too.
According to Governor Babajide Sanwolu, “The safety of our residents is my number one duty as the CSO of Lagos. So, reading reports of seemingly unlawful exploitation by the people charged to protect is very worrying & needs to be addressed immediately. Be assured that appropriate actions will be taken, & speedily too.” He said.
