A family tragedy has reportedly rocked Abuja after billionaire businessman, Chief Godwin Ademike, was allegedly killed by his biological son during a heated argument over money.
The incident reportedly happened on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the businessman’s residence located on Hassan Adamu Street in Guzape, Abuja.
According to reports, the argument started after the suspect allegedly demanded a higher allowance from his father to maintain what he described as the lifestyle of a billionaire’s son.
Sources claimed the disagreement quickly turned violent, leading to the fatal attack that has since stunned residents and members of the business community.
Reports indicated that Chief Ademike owned several expensive properties in areas including Lekki, Maitama, and Guzape.
He was also widely known as a prominent importer and exporter of electronics at Alaba International Market.
According to accounts surrounding the incident, the suspect allegedly questioned why his father was not giving him enough money.
The young man reportedly compared his lifestyle with that of his friends from other wealthy families.
Sources further claimed he told his father that some businessmen with less wealth gave their children more luxury items and financial support.
However, the businessman allegedly accused his son of mismanaging funds from a real estate business already entrusted to him.
The confrontation reportedly became more intense during the exchange inside the Abuja residence.
Furthermore, reports claimed the suspect was accompanied by two ladies during the incident.
During the heated argument, the young man allegedly picked up a knife and attacked his father multiple times.
The businessman was later rushed to Karu General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Meanwhile, medical officials reportedly confirmed him dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.
The suspect is currently said to be in police custody as investigations continue into the incident.
