A major development has emerged in the alleged kidney removal case involving a young Abuja man.
The Nigeria Police Force Special Tactical Squad (STS) has reportedly arrested the doctor and consultant linked to the case.
The arrests followed a petition by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, through his Martins Vincent Otse Initiative (MVOI).
VeryDarkMan said the arrests followed investigations into the complaint made by Ezekiel Samuel.
Ezekiel had reportedly approached the activist, claiming his kidney was removed without his knowledge or consent.
The activist later arranged medical scans to examine the young man’s claim.
Scans reportedly conducted at Nisa Premier Hospital and Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, showed that his left kidney was missing.
VeryDarkMan has now identified the hospital where the alleged procedure took place as Wellington Clinic, also known as Wellington Hospital.
The facility is reportedly located in Abuja’s Life Camp area. According to VeryDarkMan, he initially kept the hospital’s identity private while gathering information about the allegation.
He said he also carried out late-night surveillance before involving the police in the case.
Following the petition, the STS reportedly arrested the doctor and consultant accused of handling the procedure.
The suspects are currently being questioned as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged kidney removal.
Police investigators are also reportedly examining claims about possible profiling and exploitation of young adults.
