Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, has taken the NDLEA to court over his continued detention.
The social media influencer is demanding ₦190 million in damages over alleged unlawful arrest, detention and invasion of privacy.
His legal action comes after he spent about 14 days in the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
KC Luxury was arrested on August 13, 2026, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
He was reportedly preparing to travel to Paris when NDLEA operatives arrested him.
The agency linked his arrest to an investigation involving 184.50kg of cocaine allegedly tied to an international trafficking network.
NDLEA said the network allegedly used Nigeria as a route for drugs heading to Europe, Asia and the United Kingdom.
The agency also reportedly seized foreign currencies and luxury items during its investigation.
However, KC Luxury has denied wrongdoing through his legal challenge before the Federal High Court in Lagos.
His lawyer, Abdulakeem Labi-Lawal, SAN, asked the court to declare his continued detention unlawful.
KC Luxury also alleged that NDLEA officers searched his Banana Island residence without showing a search warrant.
He claimed the search produced no incriminating discovery. His father, Eric Afolabi, supported the case through an affidavit filed before the court.
The suit also challenges the alleged circulation of KC Luxury’s photographs and videos while he was in custody.
He is asking the court to order his release or grant him bail under suitable conditions.
Justice Friday Ogazi, however, declined to grant the request without hearing from the NDLEA.
The judge ordered the agency to respond to the claims and produce KC Luxury in court.
However, the case has been adjourned to September 9, 2026, for hearing.
