The incident has drawn attention because it comes at a time when concerns over the safety of foreign nationals continue to grow in parts of South Africa.

Moreover, recent anti-immigrant campaigns have increased fears among many business owners and members of the Nigerian community.

According to available reports, the attackers approached the businessman outside his shop before opening fire. The motive behind the shooting has not yet been established. However, the suspects reportedly fled immediately after carrying out the attack.

Meanwhile, the South African Police Service has not officially confirmed the victim’s identity or announced the reason behind the deadly attack. Investigations are ongoing as detectives work to identify those responsible and determine what led to the shooting.

Furthermore, the latest incident has renewed conversations about the security of foreign nationals living and working in South Africa.
