President Tinubu Celebrates Security Victory After Feared Bandit Leader Falls in Kogi

A major security breakthrough has been recorded in Kogi State, where a high-profile bandit leader, Ibrahim Bastuji, was reportedly eliminated during a coordinated military operation.

The operation is believed to have weakened criminal structures in the region. Consequently, the incident has drawn national attention due to its impact on insecurity in Kogi and nearby states.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has publicly commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and supporting security agencies for what he called a decisive achievement.

Moreover, the operation has been praised for its coordination and precision, which reportedly led to multiple successes beyond the main target.

“I congratulate our gallant troops on this decisive milestone. Nigeria will not surrender any part of its territory to criminals. Those who choose the path of violence against innocent citizens will find no hiding place. This success reflects the renewed determination of our security forces to secure every inch of our land,” President Tinubu said.

In addition to the elimination of the bandit leader, another operation led to the rescue of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, widow of the late former Chief of Defence Information, General Rabe Abubakar (rtd).

The rescue was carried out with high-level coordination and is being described as carefully executed. Therefore, public confidence in ongoing security efforts has been further strengthened.

“The safe return of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar is a source of relief to her family and to all Nigerians. I commend the intelligence coordination and bravery of the officers and men who executed the rescue operation. We owe a debt of gratitude to our troops who risk their lives daily to keep us safe,” the President added.

Meanwhile, government authorities have assured Nigerians that more support will be provided to the Armed Forces. Resources, training, and logistics are expected to be expanded.
