The Oyo State Government has demolished a building allegedly used by kidnappers connected to the abduction of a relative of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu.
The action came just days after the victims regained their freedom, sending a strong message about the state’s determination to confront criminal activities.

The property, a three-bedroom bungalow located in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun-Anaye Road area of Ibadan, was brought down on Monday during a joint operation involving government officials and security personnel.
According to information released by the state government, the building was allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers involved in the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons.
The victims are relatives of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu.
Government officials said the demolition forms part of broader efforts aimed at dismantling criminal structures and discouraging criminal groups from operating within Oyo State.
Furthermore, the operation was carried out by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation.
Security was also provided by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, who accompanied the demolition team to the location.
The incident that triggered the action occurred on June 3, 2026.
Mrs. Adegoke and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted while traveling through the Elewura area of Challenge in Ibadan.
However, following intensive security operations, the victims were later rescued safely.
