The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has reinforced his push for stronger policing by personally closing a key training programme in Nasarawa State.
The event, held at the Police Mobile Force Training College in Ende-Hills.Moreover, the presence of the IGP at the training ground added weight to the importance of the programme.
During the visit, facilities were inspected, and tactical exercises were observed. Meanwhile, the IGP also participated directly in some of the drills.
Addressing cadets undergoing training, he stressed discipline and commitment. According to him, success in the field depends largely on preparation and mindset. He stated clearly, “Resilience, professionalism, and strict adherence to human rights principles must guide your conduct.”
Graduating squadron commanders were also charged to apply their knowledge effectively. In addition, they were encouraged to lead with discipline and confidence in real operations.
He described the Police Mobile Force as a “highly disciplined, responsive, and reliable tactical arm” of the Nigeria Police Force.
However, beyond training, attention was also drawn to officer welfare. The IGP assured personnel that improvements are being made in equipment and support systems.
Moreover, he noted that better tools and working conditions would enhance performance. The visit also comes at a time when security challenges are evolving across the country.
Furthermore, collaboration and continuous learning are being encouraged within the force.
