The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, arrived at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Headquarters in Abuja on April 21, 2026.
The visit was described as strategic, with a clear focus on strengthening internal security operations.
Moreover, the development comes at a time when concerns over rising security threats continue to grow.
He noted that stronger collaboration is needed to tackle modern threats effectively. In addition, he emphasized that no single agency can handle the country’s security challenges alone.
He explained that improved coordination would enhance intelligence sharing and operational success.
Furthermore, he reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to building stronger partnerships.
Meanwhile, the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, warmly received the police chief. He acknowledged the Nigeria Police Force as the leading internal security agency in the country.

According to him, it is the first time a sitting IGP has visited the Corps Headquarters.
He further commended the police for their ongoing support to the NSCDC. In addition, he proposed the creation of a joint Fusion Centre. The centre, he explained, would help improve coordination and response to security threats.
Moreover, the idea is expected to boost communication between agencies. It would also ensure that intelligence is shared quickly and efficiently.
