Ruben Amorim Under Fire as Manchester United Make Worst Start in 33 Years

Manchester United’s crisis deepened after a crushing 3-0 defeat to rivals Manchester City in the derby, leaving head coach Ruben Amorim under growing pressure.

The loss marked another setback in what has become the club’s worst Premier League start in 33 years.

United have collected just four points from their opening four matches, a run that highlights their lack of consistency and sharpness.

Even more damning, since Amorim’s arrival last November, the team has averaged just one point per game, the lowest of any ever-present Premier League side during that period.

Speaking after the latest defeat, Amorim admitted he is struggling just as much as, if not more than, Manchester United fans.

“My message? I will do everything. Always thinking about what is best for the club. Until I’m here, I’ll do my best. The rest is not my decision. I’m suffering more [than the fans],” he told reporters.

The Portuguese manager, who now holds the unwanted record of the lowest win percentage for a United manager since World War II, accepted full responsibility for the team’s poor performances.

“The performance was not good. In the important moments, they were better than us,” he said via Sky Sports.

Amorim also appeared resigned to whatever decisions may come from the club’s hierarchy regarding his future.

“I’m trying to be rational. I see the record. I understand the frustration and I understand the decisions that come with that. I take the critics. That’s it,” he admitted.

The Manchester derby exposed more than just tactical flaws.

United’s -13 goal difference since Amorim’s appointment highlights how vulnerable the team has become at both ends of the pitch.

Supporters inside the Etihad made their feelings clear, with many leaving before the final whistle.

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on the board as fans demand swift action to reverse the decline.

Calls for leadership change have grown louder, especially given United’s struggles to compete with the Premier League’s elite sides.

Despite the storm around him, Amorim has vowed to continue giving his all until told otherwise.
