The burial dispute surrounding late gospel singer Toluwanisings has taken a new turn. The Oyo State Police Command has brought both sides together and secured a peace agreement.
His widow and paternal family have now agreed to stop the public disagreement. The decision followed weeks of tension over where the singer should be laid to rest.
The meeting took place on November 3, 2026, at the police headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan. Commissioner of Police Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga invited the parties to resolve the matter.
Those present included the singer’s widow, father, relatives, friends and associates. They all signed an undertaking to maintain peace and avoid further public disputes.
Under the agreement, the parties must stop making public statements about the disagreement. They also agreed to avoid interviews, social media posts and allegations concerning the burial matter.

The police warned that anyone who breaks the agreement would face arrest and prosecution. The command urged everyone involved to respect the undertaking and avoid actions that could renew tensions.
Toluwanisings, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, died in Ibadan on October 14, 2026.
Following his death, disagreements emerged between his widow and paternal relatives. The dispute centred on where the late gospel singer should be buried.
