The burial of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has been postponed indefinitely by her family.
The decision was announced after a Candlelight and Artists’ Night held in memory of the actress.
The development means mourners will have to wait for a new date before the actress is finally laid to rest.
In a statement signed by the Osoba and Awonuga families, the family said more time was needed to settle pending arrangements.
The family also asked friends, colleagues, fans and well-wishers to remain patient during the difficult period.
According to the family, a new burial date and venue will be announced once the outstanding matters are resolved.
The family expressed appreciation to everyone who attended the Candlelight and Artists’ Night organised in her honour.
It also thanked those who have continued to support the family with prayers, love and encouragement.
The family said in its statement:
“With deep sadness, the family of Tope Osoba wishes to inform friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers that the burial ceremony has been POSTPONED until further notice.”
The family further explained that the postponement was necessary while certain matters remained under consideration.
It added:
“The new burial date and venue will be communicated officially by the family once the necessary matters have been resolved.”
Meanwhile, the family appealed for understanding as it continues to make arrangements for the late actress’s burial.
It also asked supporters to keep the family in their prayers during the sensitive period.
“The family respectfully asks everyone for their understanding, patience, prayers, and continued support during this difficult and sensitive period.”
