The Lagos State Security Trust Fund has taken a major step to strengthen security operations in the state after donating bulletproof vests, ballistic helmets, and protective equipment to key security agencies in Lagos.
The security upgrade was presented to the Lagos State Taskforce and the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency during separate visits to their headquarters in Lagos.
Officials of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, led by Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Ayodele Ogunsan, delivered the protective gear alongside the agency’s Director of Administration, Adegbola Lewis.
The newly donated equipment included several units of bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets. Furthermore, the items are expected to improve operational safety and response capabilities for security personnel across Lagos communities.
At the Lagos Taskforce headquarters, the equipment was received by the Chairman of the agency, Adetayo Akerele. Meanwhile, the General Manager of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Ifalade Oyekan, accepted the items on behalf of the LNSA.
The donation comes at a time when authorities are increasing efforts to tackle crime, public disturbances, and emergency situations within the state.
Speaking during the presentation, Ogunsan explained that the donation forms part of the LSSTF’s broader mission to support security agencies with logistics, equipment, and operational assistance.

According to him, agencies like the LNSA remain vital to the state’s overall security structure and must be properly equipped to function effectively.
“They are our own pride. Whatever we need to nurture them, equip them and ensure that they operate to global standards in keeping Lagos safe, we are ready to do it,” Ogunsan stated.
He also clarified the purpose of the anti-riot equipment, stressing that the gear was not meant to encourage violence or intimidation.
“We are not preparing men for war; we are preparing personnel capable of containing the excesses of miscreants and unruly elements so Lagosians can sleep with their two eyes closed,” he added.
In addition, Ogunsan emphasized the importance of protecting officers responsible for safeguarding lives and property across Lagos State.
Responding to the donation, Akerele praised the LSSTF for its continued support to security operations in Lagos. He noted that the equipment would improve operational efficiency and personnel safety.
Similarly, Oyekan described the intervention as timely and important for strengthening community policing and rapid response activities across the state.
Meanwhile, the event also featured operational demonstrations by LNSA personnel dressed in the newly donated anti-riot gear.
