Twist in Favour Agbro Case as Family Appeals for N7 Million, Claims Police Requested Logistics for Investigation

The family of 20-year-old Favour Agbro has appealed for public support after alleging they are struggling to meet medical bills and assist with the ongoing police investigation into her death.

The appeal comes weeks after the young woman allegedly died by suicide following claims that she was raped by a popular Asaba-based content creator, an allegation that remains under police investigation.

According to the family, the financial burden has become overwhelming. Moreover, they claim they have been asked to provide transportation to support investigators handling parts of the case outside Delta State.

Speaking in a video shared by their pro bono lawyer, Awele Ideal, Favour’s mother said the family still owes about N7 million in hospital bills.

She appealed to members of the public to assist them financially.

According to her, the family also requires funds to support activities connected to the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, Favour’s father made another emotional appeal while explaining the challenges they have faced since reporting the incident.

He claimed police officers requested that he provide a vehicle for investigators to travel to Benin City.

According to him, the visit is expected to cover hospitals where his daughter received treatment after consuming a harmful substance before her death.

He said, “Please, we need you people’s help. Right now, they have taken our statement and they are saying that I should provide them with a vehicle that they are going to use to go to Benin to the various hospitals that we went to before she gave up. I don’t have anything at hand now. I need you people’s help. please.”

The father said the family lacks the financial resources needed to meet that request.

Furthermore, he appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to support them during what he described as one of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Police had earlier confirmed the arrest of the suspect identified in connection with the allegations.

However, investigations into the circumstances surrounding the case are still ongoing.

Authorities have yet to release their final findings.

Meanwhile, the family says it remains committed to seeking justice for their daughter.

In addition, they hope financial support from the public will help ease the pressure created by hospital bills and other expenses linked to the investigation.

The case has also renewed conversations about access to justice for victims of alleged sexual violence.

Several civil society groups and concerned Nigerians have continued to call for a thorough, transparent and impartial investigation.

They have urged law enforcement agencies to ensure every relevant detail is examined before conclusions are reached.

Although emotions remain high, officials have maintained that investigations are continuing.

The outcome of the inquiry is expected to determine the next legal steps in the matter.

As public interest grows, the Favour Agbro case continues to draw attention across Nigeria.
