A murder case involving a Pentecostal Bishop has taken a turn after police in Anambra arrested the cleric’s domestic staff and another suspect linked to the victim’s vehicle.
The suspect, who reportedly worked as the Bishop’s driver and house staff, was arrested during a rapid police operation in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area.
Police authorities alleged that the suspect conspired with other criminal elements to kill the Bishop before fleeing with his Toyota Prado Jeep to Anambra State.
The incident has generated widespread reactions online. Moreover, many residents described the development as tragic.
The Bishop was identified as the founder of End-Reconciliation Ministry based in Asaba, Delta State.
According to the Anambra State Police Command, operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, carried out the operation after receiving credible intelligence.
The police also arrested another suspect believed to be the intended buyer of the stolen vehicle.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that officers acted swiftly after tracking the suspects to Nkpor.
According to him, the stolen Toyota Prado Jeep was successfully recovered during the operation.
Furthermore, investigators believe more suspects may still be on the run.
Preliminary findings showed that the domestic worker allegedly worked closely with unidentified criminal partners before carrying out the attack.

Police said the suspects allegedly planned the crime before transporting the Bishop’s vehicle across state lines for sale.
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that investigations are still ongoing to uncover the full details surrounding the killing.
The command also assured residents that efforts are being intensified to arrest other members of the criminal gang linked to the incident.
Speaking further, SP Ikenga explained that the operation was intelligence-driven and carefully executed.
“Police operatives acted on credible information, tracked and intercepted the suspects in Nkpor, successfully recovered the stolen vehicle, and took them into custody for further interrogation,” he said.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has also reacted to the disturbing development.
He urged residents to be more careful when employing domestic workers, drivers, and other household staff.
According to the police boss, proper profiling and identity verification remain very important.
Furthermore, he advised families and employers to monitor suspicious behaviour within their homes and workplaces.
Police authorities, however, insist that every person connected to the crime will be identified and brought to justice.
