Activist VeryDarkMan has raised fresh questions about Wunmi Aloba, the widow of late singer Mohbad. Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died in September 2023 at age 27.
The activist alleged that Wunmi may have forged a National Identification Number document linked to her late husband’s assets.
In a video shared online, VDM pointed to an alleged difference between Wunmi’s international passport and NIN details.
He claimed her 2024 passport carries the name “Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi.” However, VDM said the NIN information he initially received reportedly carried “Aloba Cynthia Omowumi.”
“The name on the international passport and the information on your international passport must tally with the information on your NIN. So how come on your NIN, it is showing Aloba Cynthia Omowumi? But on your international passport, it is saying Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi? Something is wrong,” he said.
VDM claimed the matter was later taken to the relevant NIN authorities for verification.
He alleged that the record obtained from the authorities showed “Cynthia Omowumi Adebanjo.”
The activist then linked the alleged difference to Wunmi’s claims concerning Mohbad’s assets.
“Therefore, in order for Wumi to claim Mohbad’s wealth, Wumi secretly went to go and forge a document. This is a very big crime. This girl went to go and forge an NIN,” he alleged.
The VDM Wunmi Aloba allegation has added another layer to the ongoing controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death and estate.
VDM also questioned the actions of Mohbad’s brother, Adura, and Wunmi during earlier stages of the controversy.
“Could it be that this is the reason why Adura refused to give the credible information as to what led to the death of her brother? Could it be that this is why Wumi refused to speak in the earlier stage?” he asked.
However, no evidence provided in the information establishes that Wunmi forged any document.
Any difference between identification records would need confirmation from relevant authorities before conclusions are reached.
