Former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has reportedly been arrested in Abuja over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
The arrest followed an ongoing police investigation and his alleged failure to honour an earlier invitation.
However, the former governor was later released on bail.
The development was confirmed by Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Iniedu, who spoke to Channels Television on Tuesday, October 13.
According to the police spokesperson, Okorocha spent about one hour answering questions before his release.
He was also asked to return to the Force Headquarters on Tuesday for further questioning.

Police sources said the former governor was first invited for questioning on September 2.
However, the meeting was moved to September 8 after his lawyers requested a change of date.
Okorocha reportedly failed to attend the rescheduled meeting. This prompted further police action as investigators continued looking into the allegations.
The police have not yet provided more details about the case or explained the specific circumstances behind the accusations.
However, the allegations remain claims under investigation and do not establish guilt.
Further developments are expected as police continue their inquiries and seek additional information from Okorocha.
