Nigerian singer Brymo has shared personal stories from the early days of his music career, reflecting on his experiences with fame, and relationships.
Speaking during a recent Brymo podcast interview on the NOTJUSTOK podcast, the singer said his growing popularity at the time brought him attention from different people, including older women. He claimed that some of the women told him they were separated from their husbands.
Brymo explained that one particular experience made him rethink the risks that could come with such relationships. According to him, the incident happened after a woman invited him to perform at her sister’s wedding before asking him to entertain guests at her family home later that evening.
The singer said he initially accepted the invitation. However, he changed his mind after learning that the woman’s husband would also be present.
Recalling the moment, Brymo said, “She said, ‘Our baba will be there!’ I thought she meant her father, but she said, ‘No, my husband!’”

He added that the revelation immediately made him uncomfortable. Consequently, he decided not to attend the gathering because he feared the situation could put him at risk.
“As far as I’m concerned, me going there to perform that night is me opening myself up for some crazy ritual. I just couldn’t take it, so I had to get out,” he said.
Moreover, Brymo explained that the experience reminded him of a separate conversation he had several years later. He said the exchange took place in 2019 and has remained one of the most memorable moments of his career.
According to the singer, “As at 2019, I remember that moment in Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2Face looked me square in the eye and asked Annie, ‘You don f·ck Brymo?’ I will never forget it.”
Brymo did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the conversation. Likewise, no additional context or independent confirmation was offered regarding the remark he recalled.
Meanwhile, the singer said the memory has stayed with him because of how unexpected the moment felt.
The interview has since generated discussion among fans on social media, with many reacting to Brymo’s reflections on his early years in the entertainment industry.
