Addressing journalists, the Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, explained that the results were achieved through intelligence-led policing.

Moreover, increased patrols and tactical coordination were said to have played a key role.

During the operations, weapons and stolen items were recovered. Five firearms with live ammunition were seized, including an anti-riot gun. Furthermore, four stolen vehicles were retrieved from suspects during the period under review.

One of the major incidents occurred along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway. Security operatives reportedly engaged suspected bandits in a gun duel. Meanwhile, the suspects were forced to flee with injuries, leaving behind an AK-47 rifle and ammunition.

In another development, a kidnapped child was successfully rescued. The seven-year-old boy had been taken from Kubau Local Government Area. A ransom of ₦40 million was reportedly demanded before the rescue.

However, the child was later found in Soba Local Government Area. Subsequently, a suspect was arrested in Katsina State and is currently assisting investigators.

Meanwhile, a car theft syndicate was also dismantled. Arrests were made across Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina states. Vehicles recovered include a Toyota Corolla and a Pontiac Vibe believed to have been stolen.

In separate operations, suspects were found with illegal firearms. A locally made AK-47 rifle was recovered.

Furthermore, a suspect was arrested in Zaria with 44 sealed packages of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.

“We remain resolute in making Kaduna State unsafe for criminals and safe for law-abiding citizens,” he said.

The commissioner also thanked the Inspector-General of Police and the state governor for their support. Meanwhile, residents were urged to continue sharing useful information with authorities.

Therefore, as operations continue, more results are expected in the coming weeks.
