Hollywood actor and music star Will Smith has been dragged into a legal storm after a sexual harassment lawsuit was filed against him in Los Angeles just days before the New Year.
The case has quickly drawn attention, given Smith’s global profile and the serious nature of the claims.
According to reports by Fox News, the lawsuit was filed by Brian King Joseph, a professional violinist and former America’s Got Talent finalist.
Joseph alleged that he was deliberately groomed by the actor during Smith’s 2025 music tour.
Court documents revealed that Joseph’s professional relationship with Smith reportedly began after a performance in December 2024.
It later extended to Smith’s “Based on a True Story: 2025 Tour.” However, Joseph claimed the relationship shifted from professional to personal, with Smith allegedly telling him they shared a “special connection.”
Moreover, Joseph alleged that a troubling incident occurred while the tour was in Las Vegas.
He claimed he noticed signs that someone had entered his hotel room without permission.
According to the filing, items found in the room included a handwritten note addressed to him, personal belongings, and medical-related items belonging to someone else. The incident, he said, left him shaken.
Joseph further stated that he reported the matter to hotel security and authorities due to fear and distress.

However, instead of receiving support, he claimed he was later accused of lying.
Consequently, he was dismissed from the tour, while another violinist was allegedly hired quickly to replace him.
In addition, the lawsuit accused Smith of grooming, emotional distress, loss of income, and reputational harm.
Joseph said the alleged actions severely affected his mental health and career prospects.
Therefore, he is seeking damages for what he described as lasting personal and professional damage.
Meanwhile, the case has sparked fresh debate around power dynamics within the entertainment and music industries.
As of the time of reporting, representatives for Will Smith have not publicly responded to the allegations.
The claims have not yet been tested in court, and Smith remains legally presumed innocent.
