Award-winning Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has been thrown into mourning following the death of her mother, Abisola Grace Owodunni.
The actress broke the sad news on Instagram on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, leaving fans and colleagues in shock.
In her brief post, the filmmaker wrote, “R.I.P Mum,” accompanied by a candle emoji and a love symbol.
The simple message reflected the depth of her grief and the irreplaceable void left behind.
However, details about the circumstances and exact date of her mother’s passing were not disclosed.
Condolences have since poured in from fans, friends, and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Her husband, Kazim Adeoti, also consoled her, praying, “May Allah be pleased with Mama and grant her eternal rest. Pele Agbeke.”
During her lifetime, Owodunni was a respected Nigerian businesswoman.
She managed a supermarket and was known for her firm yet caring parenting style.
Moreover, she was married more than once and raised several children, including Mercy Aigbe.
