Fresh controversy has erupted as Nigerian singer, Terry Apala, has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged Naira mutilation.
This incident has drawn wide attention online and stirred mixed reactions across social media.
The news followed closely after Terry Apala issued a stern warning to popular critic, VeryDarkMan.
He demanded that the critic take down a defamatory video which linked him to the ongoing controversy.
Earlier, VeryDarkMan had accused Terry Apala and DJ Tunez, a close associate of Nigerian singer Wizkid, of being arrested and arraigned by the EFCC for Naira mutilation.
He also claimed they were released after paying a certain amount in dollars.
Meanwhile, fresh evidence has confirmed Terry Apala’s encounter with the EFCC.
A viral photo surfaced online showing the singer holding a charge board, which verified his arraignment over Naira mutilation allegations.
The arrest has triggered several reactions among Nigerians online.
One netizen, Blaise Tony, reacted by saying, “Dem dey mutilate naira too? Nothing person no go see for this country.” His comment echoed a sentiment of disbelief over the charges.
In addition, Mr Flow took a different approach, asserting, “Okoya’s sons are bigger than EFCC.”

Meanwhile, Katty Vera added humor to the situation, writing, “You no gree press money na.”
Furthermore, Chuks Dibia shared a more serious opinion, noting,
“Welcome to my country where it is more serious offence to spray naira than to loot it. You can see why your leader prefer looting to spraying. And someone like Yahaya Bello will remain untouchable.”
Therefore, while it is understandable to give a strong warning in response to defamatory claims, the unfolding case shows the weight of public accusations in today’s digital age.
It is truly a terrible moment for Terry Apala, and it is suggested that caution and better judgment should always be exercised.
