The widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, Wunmi Aloba, has opened up about the profound grief she continues to endure following his tragic passing.
In a heartfelt interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, she shared her emotions, addressed misconceptions, and revealed how difficult it has been to move forward.
According to her, Mohbad was a loving husband and a dedicated son who did not deserve to die so soon.
Speaking on the struggles he faced, Wunmi dismissed allegations that her late husband was a drug addict, emphasizing his strong values.
“He was a responsible husband to me and a responsible son to his parents. He was not a drug addict, and he was my best friend,” she stated.
Furthermore, she revealed that Mohbad had high hopes for their son, Liam, and had even planned to take him out of Nigeria for a better future.

She also expressed gratitude to her mother-in-law for encouraging her to ensure Liam grows up knowing about his father.
“Liam recognizes him in pictures, but my mother-in-law has said I should always let him know his dad has passed. Adura has been playing a good fatherly role for Liam,” she added.
The pain of Mohbad’s sudden demise has remained overwhelming for Wunmi, making it difficult for her to heal.
She admitted that she is still traumatized by the loss but acknowledged the reality of life and death. “
I am still traumatized about my husband’s death, but I know everyone will die one day. I feel God cheated my husband by allowing him to die,” she lamented.
Her words reflect the deep sorrow of a woman who wished her husband was alive to enjoy the rewards of his hard work.
Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, at just 27 years old.
His sudden death sparked widespread outrage across Nigeria, leading to ongoing investigations into the events surrounding his passing.
Meanwhile, Wunmi remains committed to fighting for justice for her late husband while raising their only son in his memory.
