Max Air Plane Crash-Lands in Kano, Passengers Evacuated Safely

A Max Air aircraft with registration number 5N-MBD, B733 crash-landed at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Tuesday night after its front tire burst into flames upon landing.

The flight, which departed from Lagos, was carrying 53 passengers and six crew members when the incident occurred at around 10:19 p.m. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were recorded.

However, the experience was frightening for those on board as smoke quickly filled the cabin, prompting an emergency evacuation.

Aliyu Inuwa Mansir, a passenger on the flight, described the terrifying moment.

“Immediately the tire of the aircraft burst into flames, smoke filled the cabin, and we had to exit through the emergency door,” he said.

“As we were stepping out, airport fire services were already spraying water to contain the fire.”

The swift response of airport emergency teams played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of passengers and preventing further damage to the aircraft.

Meanwhile, officials have commenced an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the malfunction.

The Kano Station Manager of Max Air, Malam Bello Ramalan, confirmed the incident and assured the public that safety remains the airline’s top priority.

“I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank God for the safety of everyone on board. The safety of our passengers and crew remains our top priority,” he stated.

Moreover, he commended the professionalism of the crew and emergency responders for their quick action in handling the situation effectively.

Although the crash landing was alarming, the absence of casualties has brought relief.

Aviation experts have emphasized the importance of regular aircraft maintenance and safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, affected passengers have been assured of further assistance as Max Air works with aviation authorities to address any concerns.

The airline has pledged to conduct a thorough review of the incident to ensure the continued safety of its operations.
