Kuje Medium Custodian centre in Abuja has been attacked by unknown terrorists. The attack started around 10.25pm on Tuesday night following a high capacity bomb explosion, throwing the entire area Council into confusion.
This was followed by a second and third blast with sporadic gunshots which left residents scampering into safety.
It was discovered that security report had alerted the prison officials of possible attacks of the medium prison.
Confirming the attack, a prison staff disclosed that the attackers came from the back of the prison yard.
