U.S. President Donald Trump has warned he would order military strikes on Iran “without question” should the country resume nuclear enrichment efforts.
He made the threat on his Truth Social platform on Friday, adding that his administration once protected Iran’s Supreme Leader from an assassination attempt.
Trump claims,
“I knew EXACTLY where he was sheltered, and would not let Israel, or the U.S. Armed Forces, by far the Greatest and Most Powerful in the World, terminate his life. I SAVED HIM FROM A VERY UGLY AND IGNOMINIOUS DEATH, and he does not have to say, ‘THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP!’”
He further said that U.S. officials considered sanctions relief for Iran until Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made a defiant public statement. Following that,

“I was working on the possible removal of sanctions, and other things … But no, instead I get hit with a statement of anger, hatred, and disgust, and immediately dropped all work on sanction relief, and more.”
He warned that Iran may face U.S. strikes if it resumes uranium enrichment.
“They are always so angry, hostile, and unhappy, and look at what it has gotten them A burned out, blown up Country … They have no hope, and it will only get worse,” he declared.
Meanwhile, Iran has dismissed any plans to restart nuclear talks with Washington.
This contradicts Trump’s statement during a NATO summit, where he mentioned fresh negotiations beginning the following week.
Furthermore, Iran rejected a UN request to inspect sites struck during recent airstrikes, accusing the International Atomic Energy Agency chief of bias.
Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, described the ceasefire following 12 days of conflict as a “perfect opportunity” to negotiate peace.
However, he warned, further strikes may be inevitable if Iran moves ahead with nuclear activities.
Khamenei, in a televised address, claimed victory over Israel and vowed resistance.
In addition, the rejection of sanctions relief could further isolate Iran economically.
If Iran does resume nuclear efforts, the risk of U.S. strikes looms large, threatening regional peace.
