Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force recently rescued Mrs. Folasade Odumosu, the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General Hakeem Odumosu, after a daring operation in Ogun State.
The rescue followed her abduction on January 16, 2025, when four armed men kidnapped her outside her residence in Arepo. 
Thanks to the swift action of the Ogun State Police Command, with support from the Force Headquarters’ intelligence platforms, Mrs. Odumosu was freed unharmed after a successful confrontation with the kidnappers.
In a remarkable show of teamwork, the Ogun State Police operatives, aided by critical surveillance and intelligence, tracked the abductors to a swampy area in Ikorodu.
On January 23, the police launched a raid at 6:45 AM, catching the kidnappers off guard. During the operation, two of the assailants were neutralized, while others managed to flee, abandoning their weapons.
“This operation exemplifies the dedication and resilience of our Police officers,” said Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commending the officers involved.
Moreover, the police recovered N10 million in ransom money initially paid to the kidnappers, as well as several firearms.
The weapons seized included four AK-47 rifles, three locally made single-barrel rifles, and various ammunition.
Mrs. Odumosu, who had been in captivity for over a week, was found unharmed and is currently undergoing a medical evaluation as a precautionary measure. She has since been reunited with her family.
This successful rescue operation not only highlights the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to tackling kidnapping but also reflects their growing efficiency in combating violent crimes.

The Ogun State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner Lanre Ogunlowo, demonstrated exceptional bravery and skill, earning well-deserved praise for their swift response.
