Operation KO S’AYE: Lagos Police Nab 150 Suspects, Recover Firearms and 100 Motorcycles

A major police operation across parts of Lagos has resulted in the arrest of 150 suspects and the recovery of firearms, unregistered motorcycles, suspected stolen items, and illicit drugs.

The latest crackdown highlights the Lagos State Police Command’s renewed effort to dismantle criminal networks and restore safety in communities.

The Lagos Police raid was carried out in the early hours of Sunday across several identified criminal hideouts. Moreover, police said the operation targeted locations believed to have been used by hoodlums and other criminal elements operating within the Igando and Idimu areas.

Authorities described the coordinated operation as another significant breakthrough in the ongoing campaign to eliminate criminal activities across Lagos State.

Furthermore, the command stressed that the exercise forms part of a wider security strategy aimed at ensuring criminals no longer have safe places to hide.

According to the Lagos State Police Command, the operation began at about 5:45 a.m. on July 5.

It followed credible intelligence gathered by security operatives.

A joint team drawn from different police formations carried out the coordinated raid.

The operation focused on Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots within the Area M, Idimu axis.

Police said the exercise was designed to flush out suspected criminals terrorising residents.

During the operation, 150 suspects were arrested.

In addition, several items believed to be linked to criminal activities were recovered.

The recovered exhibits included 100 unregistered motorcycles. Police also recovered 54 mobile phones during the operation.

Furthermore, officers seized one double-barrel gun and two single-barrel guns.

Another locally made double-barrel short gun was also recovered.

Meanwhile, two military camouflage uniforms were found among the recovered items.

The operation also led to the recovery of assorted charms.

Six generators suspected to have been stolen were equally seized.

In addition, substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs were recovered from the locations.

According to the command, all the suspects remain in police custody.

Investigations have already commenced to establish the level of involvement of each suspect.

The police added that anyone found to have committed criminal offences will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The Operation KO S’AYE Lagos Police initiative has continued to receive attention because of its focus on intelligence-led operations.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, praised the officers involved in the successful operation.

He commended their professionalism and commitment to duty.

The commissioner reaffirmed the command’s determination to sustain the operation across the state.

According to him, criminal hideouts will continue to be identified and dismantled.

He stressed that public safety remains the command’s highest priority.

The police also appealed to residents to support ongoing security efforts.

Members of the public were encouraged to provide useful and timely information that could assist security agencies.

Such information, police noted, will help identify criminal hideouts and arrest more suspects.
