It has been reported that a fire outbreak invaded the Providus Bank Head Office at Plot 1114 Adeola Odeki, Victoria Island in Lagos State ,Tuesday,taking a life of an unidentified middle aged man which has been burnt beyond recognition.
At about eight number of persons were also reportedly injured.The fire bursted from the premises of the bank while a repair work was being carried out on its generating set at 10am.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident. “The fire started within the bank premises on Tuesday morning. Our vehicle got burnt but of our officers were not affected.“One person died and others were injured. The injured persons have been hospitalised,” He said. 
Seven of the eight injured persons sustained fire burns while the eighth, a Policeman attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) was injured by broken glasses while escaping from his patrol vehicle that caught fire.
