Nigerian midfielder Quadri Liameed has been discharged from hospital after a frightening incident during a match in Spain.

The incident happened during CE Sabadell’s clash with Albacete at the Carlos Belmonte Stadium.

Liameed received urgent medical attention before being taken away by ambulance.
However, fresh medical tests brought relief to his club and supporters.
Sabadell confirmed that the midfielder had been cleared to leave hospital after doctors found no serious injury.
The incident occurred around the 42nd minute of the match. Albacete player José Corpas attempted to reach the ball but accidentally struck Liameed’s head with his boot.
The Nigerian midfielder immediately collapsed, prompting medical staff to rush onto the pitch. Corpas received a straight red card for the challenge.
Liameed later regained consciousness and was taken to hospital for further examinations. His condition raised concerns among teammates, club officials and supporters.
However, Sabadell announced that the medical tests had produced reassuring results. In a statement on its official X account, the club said:
“@Qlimeed has received medical discharge after all the tests have come out well and will return tonight to Sabadell!
“We want to thank the medical services of @AlbaceteBPSAD for the help received at all times.”
The midfielder later travelled back to Sabadell by car. A member of the club’s medical team accompanied him.
Reports indicate that doctors deactivated the concussion protocol after the examinations found no injury.
This meant Liameed did not need to remain under hospital observation overnight.
He is expected to rest before beginning a specialised training programme. The club will assess his progress before he fully returns to team activities.
Meanwhile, Albacete won the encounter 2-1 despite Corpas’ dismissal.
