The incident happened along the Welfare Quarters to Mopol 13 Ring Road corridor in Bar Council Ward.

Residents who rushed to the scene said the aircraft landed on open farmland after the crew noticed the problem.

All officers and crew members aboard the helicopter reportedly survived the NAF helicopter emergency landing without injuries.

An eyewitness, Stephen Ipam, described the moment the helicopter came down.

“All lives on board were saved when a Nigerian Air Force helicopter made an emergency landing on our farmland due to a technical fault,” Ikpam reported from the scene.

He added, “We all rushed to the scene to support the officers on board, and to the glory of God, they all came out alive.”

The emergency landing quickly attracted residents from nearby communities.

People gathered at the farmland to assist the Air Force personnel before military security teams arrived.

The security teams secured the area and began checks around the aircraft.

Technicians and safety officers are expected to examine the helicopter and determine the cause of the technical problem.

The assessment will also help determine whether the aircraft can be repaired at the location.

Further arrangements may then be made to recover the helicopter from the farmland.

The NAF helicopter emergency landing ended without reported injuries, thanks to the crew’s handling of the aircraft.

Further details about the helicopter, its mission and the exact nature of the fault were not provided.
